Team Development

Development Matters work with functional teams who are keen to make changes to improve team effectiveness, increase team relationships and develop the skill-base within the team.   Using a systematic approach to team intervention, we carry out the following steps:

Diagnosis

  • Initially meet with the sponsors and stake-holders to determine the outcomes and success criteria for the development
  • Meet, get to know the team and observe them in team meetings
  • Carry out one-to-one interviews with team members to determine their contribution and the needs of the team
  • Analyse the data collected to decide how best to move the team forward, how to feedback to individuals and the team, and to identify team and specific individual coaching needs
  • Report back and make recommendations
Intervention
From the diagnosis, agree the necessary team interventions, which may take the form of:
  • Facilitation to further define team goals; roles and/or working practices
  • Team building to encourage feedback, enhance relationships and deal with conflict
  • Development sessions to increase awareness or skill level in areas such as Change; Communications and Influencing; Business Development; Leadership and Coaching
Coaching
As part of the process we may work with one, some or all team members in one-to-one coaching sessions where:
  • Individual coaching outcomes and measures of success are set
  • Individuals receive coaching to help them achieve their set outcomes
  • Ongoing confidential feedback is given
